There is plenty of early drama in the MLS Cup Playoff showdown between Inter Miami and Atlanta United Saturday evening.
Lionel Messi and co. were huge favorites coming into the best-of-three series with the Five Stripes, but after a win a piece in the first two matches, it came down to a decisive third match in Miami.
The Herons got off to a flying start in the opening 20 minutes, as Matías Rojas fired home from close range to five the hosts the lead.
And while that may have spelled early trouble for the underdogs from Atlanta, the visitors responded in superb fashion, scoring two goals in two minutes after Miami’s opener to take a shock lead.
Both goals came from Jamal Thiaré on the break, stunning the home crowd.
But just when you thought the drama would stop there, Miami thought they had an equalizer just two minutes later but a Luis Suárez goal was ruled offside.
Buckle up, folks. We’re in for a special night in Miami!
