With Christmas around the corner, there was plenty to be merry about this past weekend in the Premier League – unless you were Gary O’Neil, Russell Martin or Pep Guardiola.
Here’s our pick of the best statistics from gameweek 16.
Baby boomer
22y 157d – Amad Diallo is the second-youngest player to score a 90th-minute winner against the reigning Premier League champions, after Neil Mellor versus Arsenal in 2004 (22y 24d). Showstoppers. pic.twitter.com/DcuAM6iO6u

Amad Diallo joined cult Barclays legend Neil Mellor by scoring a 90th minute winner against the reigning champions on Sunday. What a legacy to leave already.
Pointless possession
Arsenal attempted 682 passes vs Everton – their highest total in a Premier League game this season.

It was an incredibly frustrating Saturday for Arsenal as they drew 0-0 with Everton to slip further behind in the title race. That was exacerbated by the sheer amount of possession they had at the Emirates, completing more passes than in any game so far this season.
Rúben’s rise
A quite remarkable stat from TNT Sports here, as they revealed that Rúben Amorim (two) has seen more wins in Manchester City’s last 11 matches than Pep Guardiola (one).
Stoppage time scenes
2 – Nottingham Forest have scored only their second-ever 90th-minute winning goal in the Premier League – the first was in October 1995 against Bolton Wanderers through Colin Cooper. Elation. pic.twitter.com/nuevQH6FLl

It’s very rare you get to see a stoppage time winner at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. In fact, the last time the City Ground saw scenes like this Saturday was all the way back in 1995.
More Mo moments
100 – Mo Salah has now provided 100 assists for Liverpool in all competitions, with 13 of those coming this season – the most of any Premier League player in 2024-25. Centurion. pic.twitter.com/nvHTy3lOfs

Liverpool may have faltered slightly on Saturday with a 2-2 draw against Fulham, but it was another matchweek with another milestone for Mohamed Salah. This time, the Egypt international bagged his 100th assist for the club.
