A $1.2B contract for nine projects in Texas, Tennessee, and Florida, as well as Canada was recently awarded to sustainable infrastructure firm Ferrovial.

The scope of work includes roadway improvements, bridge construction, expansion of water treatment plants, and road maintenance.

The Texas Department of Transportation issued a contract for two projects, including the extension of IH 27 in Randall County and the construction of acceleration and deceleration lanes, a bridge deck, and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls in Friona’s US highway.

The firm’s waterworks division was awarded several contracts to improve the capacity and operational efficiency of water and wastewater treatment facilities. These include the Walnut Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), Geronimo Creek WWTP, and Dr. Paul Phillips Water Purification Plant project.

The contracts for transportation projects in Florida will increase the capacity, connectivity, and safety of roadways in Pensacola. Further, $66 million of the contract comes from the Tennessee Department of Transportation to work on centerline maintenance and roadway management.

The company also received two contracts in Canada to support roadway projects, including planning and performing quality, environmental safety management, incident response, traffic management, road patrol, roadway maintenance, winter maintenance for Niagara Falls, and winter maintenance on Toronto’s 407 express toll route (ETR).
