Two men are facing first-degree murder charges, York police say, following a double-fatal shooting in Keswick, Ont. Wednesday.

Officers were first called about the sound of gunshots in the area of Bayview Avenue and Lowndes Avenue around 7:28 a.m., police said in a news release.

When emergency crews got there, they found two people — 21-year-old Reilly Macdonald and 39-year-old Mark Sutcliffe — suffering from gunshot wounds in Bayview Park. Police said both were pronounced dead at the scene.

On Wednesday evening, a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Barrie, were charged with first-degree murder.

“The relationship between the two accused and the victims has not yet been confirmed, but are believed to be known to each other,” the news release reads.

Investigators say there is no threat to the public, as this was not a random incident and there are no outstanding suspects.

Police are asking anyone in the area at the time, or who lives in the neighbourhood, to check for security and dash cam footage and come forward with any information.
