Burnaby RCMP say two people have died after a two-vehicle crash on the city’s Boundary Road early Saturday morning, and the stretch will likely be closed for some time.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in a statement that officers responded to reports of a crash just before 5 a.m. PT Saturday near the intersection of Boundary Road and Forest Street.

According to RCMP, one car was going west on Forest Street when it was hit by a car heading north on Boundary Road.

Two people in the westbound car died after the collision, Kalanj said, and the other driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say one car was travelling westbound on Forest Street, and another collided with it as it was travelling northbound on Boundary Road.
