France Football magazine has named the five sides in the running for the 2024 edition of the Ballon d’Or Women’s Club of the year, a title currently held by Barcelona.
The award recognises the best women’s club in the world over the past season, featuring champions of some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world.
Barcelona had yet another incredible 2023/24 campaign, achieving a first ever quadruple by winning the Champions League, Liga F, Supercopa de Espana Femenina and Copa de la Reina.
However, they are up against some tough competition in their fight to win for a second consecutive year. This includes Lyon, who were crowned French champions for the 17th time in 18 years in 2023/24, alongside NWSL league champions NJ/NY Gotham, recognised for their huge improvement on their last place finish the season before. Elsewhere, WSL champions Chelsea also earned a nomination for topping the league for a fifth consecutive year.
