A 25-year old has been charged with murder in the death of a Windsor senior last week.

Windsor police say that Thursday morning they located and arrested one man at a home in the 700 block of Pierre Avenue.

He has been charged with first-degree murder and break and enter in the death of Reginald John Frickey, who was found dead in his Highland Avenue home on Oct. 25.

Jason Crowley, Windsor police deputy Chief of operations, thanked the Major Crimes Unit for its quick arrest of the man allegedly “responsible for this heinous crime.”

“I hope these charges bring some closure to the loved ones of Mr. Frickey and help them heal from this tragedy,” he said.

Police say a post-mortem examination determined Frickey’s death was a homicide.

“Investigators have confirmed that the homicide was an isolated incident, and the victim and accused were known to one another,” police said in the statement.

The 25-year-old man has also been charged with break and enter.

Earlier this week, police held a press conference calling for surveillance camera footage, saying one suspect appeared to be purposefully avoiding security cameras in the home.

At the time, investigators said nothing appeared to have been stolen from the home and there was no indication of a forced entry. The victim was not known to police.
