Montreal police say seven people were taken to hospital with injuries after being struck by a car overnight.
Police responded to a 911 call at 3:25 a.m. Sunday about a fight on Bélanger Street near 6th Avenue on the border of the Saint-Michel and Rosemont neighbourhoods.
When they arrived at the scene, police located two injured people on the sidewalk. They were transported to hospital.
A half hour later, a second 911 call came in about five other people involved in the same incident who had transported themselves to hospital.
The victims are men and women between the ages of 29 and 47. All sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Police say preliminary information suggests a fight broke out at a party in a nearby home which then spilled onto the street.
That’s when a motorist is said to have struck the victims before fleeing the scene.
Police say no arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.
