As is tradition, the medal table is ordered by the number of golds achieved by each team. At Tokyo 2020, China led the Paralympics field with 96 golds, with Great Britain second on 41 and the United States third with 37. If any countries tie on the medal table, bronze and silver medals are then taken into account.

ParalympicsGB is hoping for a similar haul in Paris as at the delayed Tokyo Games, where its athletes won 124 medals – UK Sport has set a target of 100-140 medals.

GB have never been outside the top five in the medal table since the inaugural Paralympic Games in Rome in 1960 – and have been a top-three nation since Sydney 2000.

Here is the medal table with the top 10 nations – it will be updated at the end of each day.
