Lauryn Goodman has admitted she is “nervous” ahead of her Celebs Go Dating debut.

The TV personality is the latest star to sign up for the E4 dating series, which sees matchmakers picking potential suitors for celebs. It comes after her well-documented court battle with footballer Kyle Walker – who is reported to have fathered her two children while he was married – over child maintenance.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, Goodman confessed that she found the Celebs Go Dating process to be “intense”. She also shared that she’d had to debate whether to go on the show to find love.

Chatting to This Morning hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on Monday’s episode of the show (2 September), Goodman said of filming the series: “It was really intense. It was a really, really intense kind of process. So I am nervous about it.”

Celebs Go Dating sees the Celebrity Dating Agency picking potential matches for those taking part. They then get help and advice along the way from dating experts such as TV presenter Anna Williamson and Paul Carrick Brunson, who is a life coach and professional matchmaker.

Explaining why she signed up, Goodman said: “I was umming and ahhing about whether it was the right time and whether I should go on it because I think in one sense, people are saying, you know, ‘You are not over your ex, why are you going on it?’

“And then in the other sense, people are saying, ‘Well now is as good a time as ever.’ So I think I just wanted to get back out there and start trying to heal from everything really and just see the process.”

Goodman has been in the headlines a lot over the situation with Walker and has faced some criticism, but she said she had learned to “block the noise out”.

“It’s not easy to do but it’s something that I’ve had to figure out,” she said, explaining that if she was going home stressed then it would have an impact on her young children. “So I have to make sure that I am the best version of me to give to them,” she said.

The star was also asked if she had any regrets over what had happened but replied: “I can’t say I have any regrets because my children are my world.”

Goodman also told how of her hopes to have an “amicable” relationship with Walker. “In the future obviously I hope that we can be amicable for our two children because they should come first,” she said.
