The Queen City serves as host for a neutral site Top 25 matchup Saturday between No. 24 N.C. State and No. 14 Tennessee, the fourth meeting between the two programs.
The Wolfpack and Volunteers each have plenty to prove in the Week 2 contest. N.C. State looks to start faster, tougher and correct details, things the team struggled with in its 38-21 win over Western Carolina in Week 1.
Tennessee wants to show it can be just as efficient against a Power 4 team as it was in the 69-3 rout of Chattanooga, which plays in the FCS.
This is the first meeting between the programs since 2012, when the Vols beat the Pack, 35-21, in Atlanta. Additionally, this is the first matchup when N.C. State and Tennessee are both ranked.

Ja’Had Carter participates in warmups
Nickelback Ja’Had Carter joined the Wolfpack on the field during warmups. The Ohio State transfer did not play in Week 1 due to an injury.
N.C. State head coach Dave Doeren said Carter was available against Western Carolina, but the staff wanted to give him another week of rehab.
“Ja’Had will play. He’s ready to go,” Doeren said Monday. “We practiced last night, and like I said after the game, he could have played Saturday. We just felt like it was best to get him one more week to be back 100%.”
