Well, I’m Ben.

Folks.

Here are three quick things coming out of UFC, 306 on Saturday night.

Number one, you gotta start with the spear itself.

Dana White was obsessed with the UFC putting on a show here.

He promised the greatest live combat sports event that anybody has ever seen.

And this was not quite that there were some cool visuals.

The UFC had a whole thing, it was trying to do with the history of combat sports in Mexico.

That narrative got a little muddled at times.

It seemed like by the end, we were just doing like, hey, what if a lady could fly through the air on top of a future pyramid or something?

Fine.

It was still cool to look at at times and for live viewers in the arena seemed like probably a really immersive and memorable experience but not even the best US fight card of this calendar year.

Not even close frankly.

Number two, Mara Bash Vli is your new UFC men’s bantamweight champion Sean o’malley just couldn’t get started in this one and I don’t know whether to attribute that to Mara being so good at the stuff he does or o’malley just not being able to find his feet under him here, but now Moab is a champion.

We’re gonna have to wait and see what that title reign actually looks like.

Lastly, the Valentina Shevchenko era has begun again in the UFC women’s flyweight division.

She goes out there and gets her revenge against Alexa Grasso.

Not a thrilling fight, but it does remind you just how good Valentina Shevchenko is in so many different aspects of this game.

Now, the question is, who does she fight?

And what do they come up with to solve this particular problem?
