💡 The EFL Cup is showing Arsenal’s future is bright

First a goalkeeping crisis meant that Arsenal had to field 16-year-old Jack Porter against Bolton in the EFL Cup, the teenager becoming the youngest ever player to start for the club.

Then, 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri put Arsenal 2-0 up, scoring in his first senior start for the club.

Myles Lewis-Skelly sent a through ball to Raheem Sterling on the left wing, and the England international delivered a cross into the box, which Nwaneri easily converted.

After the break, the teenager doubled his joy at the Emirates when Declan Rice picked up on a defensive error. Nwaneri received the ball from Rice, dribbled into the box and slotted home a second.

Born in Enfield, Nwanieri has been at the club since the age of nine, and has represented England at U16, U17 and U19 levels.

Bright futures ahead for these Arsenal youngsters?
