Must read

Nepal ended their Canada Tri-series of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 without a victory after their last match of the series was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain.

The no result gave Nepal their first point of the League 2 following a five-match losing streak that stretched back to February.

Nepal have lost six of their eight matches and sit in the seventh position in the eight-team standing with three points. Their only victory of the second edition of the League 2 came in the inaugural tri-series at the TU Cricket Ground when they thrashed the Netherlands by nine wickets. Rohit Paudel’s Nepal lost twice against Namibia and the second leg against the Dutch in the home tri-series.

In Canada, they lost the series opener against the hosts by 103 runs and faced a one-wicket defeat against Oman in the second match. Nepal also lost to Canada in the third match of the series by five wickets.

Canada lead the standings with 14 points with seven wins and four losses. Oman are sixth with six points. Their match against Scotland had also yielded no result.

Nepal next play a T20I tri-series against the same sides (Canada and Oman) before heading to the United States to participate in the US Tri-Series, which also involves Scotland.

US are second with 12 points. They have six victories and two losses.

Scotland are fourth on nine points with four wins and two losses.
