Our next guest needs no introduction.

Really seven time Super Bowl winner, current hard working, studying his rear end off, uh Fox Sports NFL analyst, Tom Brady.

Thank you, Tom for coming in today.

Really looking forward to talking to you.

Thanks Charles.

I appreciate it.

Yeah, it’s, uh, it’s obviously been a fun journey back here in the big 10 offices.

It’s kind of where it all started for me.

And, uh, in this football career that I had now it went from big 10 football to the NFL and now a broadcasting.

So it’s been a lot of fun.

Hey, you know, the Washington Commanders right now, Jay Daniels, there’s a ton of buzz.

Um, they’ve started two and one.

Jane Dales, obviously big win on Monday night football against the Cincinnati Bengals.

I’m curious, I, I know you had a chance to do some work on Jade and I saw you named him one of your stars of the week.

He makes this play at the end of the game, throws his touchdown pass to Terry mclorin.

There’s a free rusher coming off the edge of safety in what in your mind when you’re watching this unfold.

What?

Through a guy who’s been there taking these hits?

What was the thought that ran through your mind as you watch that play unfold?

Yeah, it’s just good recognition and ultimately a great throw under pressure.

And I think those are things sometimes you really can’t teach.

And I think when you see plays like that, you realize the potential upside that a young player may have and it’s great to do it once.

But with all due respect, you’ve got to do it every single week like that.

And that’s really what I get excited about and someone anyone can make a play in the NFL and I take nothing away from Jaden because he’s an exceptional young man and player.

Um but, you know, they, all these young guys and they’re only three weeks into the year, they’ve got to do it day in and day out in practice and then week in and week out in the games and then year in and year out.

And I think when you see someone like Patrick Holmes set the standard right now for quarterback playing in the NFL, they should all be trying to emulate what he does, which is formal under pressure.

And those are the moments that you see that are exciting and now it’s a matter of consistency and how often you can do that as we can see in the background.

Uh You have Abbot Health Care.

I, I know you’re doing an initiative with them.

I, I think some people would be surprised to know that the US right now is experiencing one of the worst blood donation shortages in decades and, you know, the, the population in the United States under 25 is shrinking and, you know, that’s, that’s led to at least a portion of uh the shortage that’s occurring.

Can you tell us a little bit about what you’re working uh with Abaddon and, and how you’re kind of tackling this?

Yeah, there’s a great blood drive competition that Abbott in the big 10 are partnering on and all 18 schools are participating.

Uh There’s one event every uh at, at each, at each campus this season in the fall.

I think they’re doing one in the spring too.

But I think it’s just the overall importance of giving blood where we can and, and how it’s really helping save lives.

And I know little things make a big difference.

Um whether that’s in sports or whether that’s in really important um places like this, that we need to create awareness around.

And uh you hear kind of some staggering statistics and how can we make a difference, bring awareness to it and then allow this really friendly competition, maybe not so friendly when the real competitive people get involved and, and see how it turns out over the course of a season.

So it’s a great way to kick off.

Um this, this initiative with a in the big 10.
