(Reuters) – Key Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems is reviewing its contingency plans regarding furloughs, company spokesperson Joe Buccino said on Thursday, adding that no decisions has been made at this time.
The planning by the financially struggling aerostructures giant follows a strike by more than 30,000 U.S. West Coast Boeing workers that is now spilling over into the planemaker’s supply chain.
The Financial Times reported on Wednesday that Spirit would begin furloughts in three weeks if the strike continues.
