Nepal defeated Oman by 56 runs in the fifth match of the Canada T20 Tri-Series at King City on Wednesday.

Nepal, after being put into bat, posted 157-7 in their allotted 20 overs as skipper Rohit Paudel played a crucial knock, remaining unbeaten on 56 from 44 balls, hitting two fours and four sixes.

Contributions from Anil Sah (11), Aasif Sheikh (16), Dev Khanal (18), and Kushal Malla (19) helped Nepal build a competitive total.

Fayyaz Butt was the standout bowler for Oman, taking three wickets for 23 runs.

In response, Oman struggled against Nepal’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 101 in 17.5 overs. Zeeshan Maqsood top-scored for Oman with 35 off 30 balls, while Aqib Ilyas contributed 22. Oman lost wickets at regular intervals and failed to build momentum.

Kushal Bhurtel picked three wickets as Sandeep Lamichhane, Rohit Paudel and Rijan Dhakal claimed two wickets each.
