71-year-old hunter missing in northern Saskatchewan

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are searching for a missing 71-year-old hunter in northern Saskatchewan.

James John Montgrand, who sometimes goes by the nickname “Jean,” was last seen on Sept. 30 in Turnor Lake, when he indicated he planned to go hunting in the area.

The national police agency said in a press release that Montgrand needs medicine that he does not have with him.

He is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall and 154 lbs. He has brown eyes and grey hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating him. Anyone with information is asked to contact Turnor Lake RCMP by dialing 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or through saskcrimestoppers.com.
