VICTORIA – The University of Victoria golf teams are ready to battle for the Canada West conference crown at the Canada West Championships, Oct. 7-8, hosted by the University of British Columbia Okanagan at Okanagan Golf Club.

NEWS & NOTES
- The Vikes head to the conference championships following an appearance at the Ottawa University (AZ) Fall Invitational, which saw the women finish third as a team and the men in eighth, Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Victoria opened the season at Simon Fraser University’s True North Classic, Sept. 23-24, where the men finished sixth as a team and the women in a tie for eighth.
- Brynne Davies is coming off her highest-ever individual finish as a Vike, recently tying for third at the OUAZ Fall Invite with a +9 overall result after three rounds of play. Cindy Koira added a top-five finish in Arizona, tying for fifth at +13 overall.
- Owen Croft led the Vikes’ men’s side with a seventh-place, +4 overall result one week ago. Maguire Lines led the Vikes at the True North Classic, also with an overall +4 to finish in a tie for seventh individually.
- In 2023, the Vikes finished fourth as teams on both the men’s and women’s side at the Canada West Championships. Vikes alum Zach Ryujin led the way for the Vikes with a silver medal individual showing, while Croft finsihed in the top 10 with a ninth-place, +6 overall card. On the women’s side, Koira and Davies finished back-to-back in 12th and 13th at +17 and +18, respectively.
- The last conference banner for the Vikes came in 2022, with the men’s side capturing the program’s first Canada West title since the inception of the conference tournament in 2019.
