Birmingham City and Shrewsbury Town have been charged by the Football Association after a mass confrontation between their players in their recent Bristol Street Motors Trophy game.
Both clubs allegedly failed to stop their players behaving in an improper and/or provocative way around the 68th minute of Blues’ 4-0 win at the Croud Meadow on 8 October.
The incident occurred after a challenge by Town’s Taylor Perry on Blues winger Scott Wright.
Perry was booked for the tackle and Wright and his Blues team-mate Ben Davies, plus Shrewsbury defender Aristotle Nsiala, were also shown yellow cards following the melee that ensued.
Both clubs have until 16 October to respond to the charge.
