Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven says the side can achieve “beautiful things” this season.
They continue their Europa League campaign on Thursday when they host Eredevisie club AZ Alkmaar.
Speaking before the game, Van de Ven said: “We all trust in the process and the system the gaffer wants to play. We all trust in each other and we know we can achieve some beautiful things.”
Tottenham are on a run of six wins in seven in all competitions since boss Ange Postecoglou said “I always win things in my second year” after their derby loss to Arsenal back in September.
However, Van de Ven was quick to play down expectations going into Thursday’s match, despite the competition representing a significant opportunity to win the club’s first piece of silverware since 2008.
“Of course we want to win a trophy. That is something we all want and we are working towards every day. Even if the gaffer didn’t say this, we still had the same belief as a group,” added the Netherlands international.
“We know our quality. We know we have some unbelievable players in the team and an unbelievable group of players. Hopefully we can win a prize. That’s a big thing for us.”
