Southampton manager Russell Martin will miss his side’s Carabao Cup clash with Stoke City through suspension.
The decision arrived after the 38-year-old picked up his third yellow card of the season during Saints’ 1-0 loss at Manchester City on Saturday.
The Daily Echo reported after the loss that Martin was annoyed with the caution and said, “he didn’t swear or anything like that.”
Martin initially thought the ban would apply to the Premier League, but the FA later confirmed it would apply to the Carabao Cup.
Southampton welcome Stoke City to St. Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday, looking to advance to the quarter-finals.
