Nate Tice & Matt Harmon react to Tuesday’s trade between the Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens, which sent the WR back to the AFC North after only a half-season in Charlotte. The Baltimore Ravens are clearly trying to add to a WR corps that fell just one game short of the Super Bowl last season, so what does Johnson add to an offense that already features Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Derrick Henry & Mark Andrews?

Yeah, look, I mean, Dante just made no sense for him to play out the year in Carolina because they’re not going anywhere.
Although they’re gonna be right back in the same spot when they have another new young quarterback next year.
Who is that guy throwing to?
Although they have some interesting young players, Jalen Coker, that guy, that guy can play play.
He can.
I know.
I, I watched him this morning.
Yeah, I watched him in the pre predraft process and, you know, he was kind of like, uh day three guy.
Interesting to me.
But yeah, no, he’s legit.
He might be our next favorite power slot.
Nate Ty.
Let’s, let’s watch out for that.
I agree with the good, oh buddy.
I, I’m ready to tempt you on, on some Jalen Coker big slot propaganda.
But, uh, so they’ll, they’ll figure that out in Carolina.
It just made no sense.
They, they probably weren’t going to resign him, whatever he did, probably didn’t want to resign there anyways Baltimore, they do need more receiving options because as much as I appreciate Rashad Bateman, I, I gotta laugh about how he points up to the sun after that drop, like, you know, the sun, the sun has existed on human, human time span here for quite some time.
The sun has been around longer than pro football.
But, um, yeah, I, I thought he’s still, he still is.
I think he’s having a nice season.
Zay Flowers is not the, he’s a good separator, but he’s like kind of a goofy route runner at times.
Sometimes on these downfield outside.
You don’t say it was the assignment quadruple.
It might have been more than that quintuple move that, that he put on Flowers out there running routes like it was senior bowl practice in a one on one drill.
And so of course, it’s like man, Lamar overthrew him on a, on a passway.
Wow, he didn’t know where the hell he was gonna be.
He runs routes, he runs routes in cursive and, and everyone else is just block letters all caps.
He runs, he runs around in cursive and Deonte is not a perfect player too.
Obviously, uh You want to talk about drop issues like he’ll, he’ll have his drop issues every now and again too, but he is a reliable route runner who can separate against press man coverage on the outside.
So definitely something that they didn’t have in this room right now.
So, um yeah, I mean, look Baltimore’s loading up as they should.
They’re a very good football team even if they lost this game against Cleveland.
This, this is the type of move they should be making.
Yeah, absolutely.
This is what a team totally makes sense to give just like deandre Hopkins to the Chiefs.
Like that just makes sense to me.
Uh player that uh need uh the looks that they get, they get so much single high because everyone’s scared of Derek Henry in the run game.
So, alright, let’s get some man beaters, let’s just get some guys that can win one on one.
And then when you have all those guys, you already have your dirty work guy in agar so you can get the other guys to do the the flashy fun things.
Jay Johnson can do that and when he doesn’t have to be the guy, he can just be a secondary option.
Yeah.
Yes, it’s kind of like they have a whole bunch of secondary options but to me that works because they all can beat man.
They’re not gonna get any, you know, too much of like, oh we need this zone beater.
They have some decent feel in there.
But like, yeah, that’s where the tight ends come in.
That’s where Isaiah likely comes in Mark Andrews.
So yeah, just adding to their weapon pile in Baltimore.
Good team.
