CHISINAU (Reuters) – Moldova’s constitutional court recognised the results of an Oct. 20 referendum, in which a slim majority voted in support of the country’s aspirations to join the EU, the court’s chairperson said on Thursday.
The referendum and an election held on the same day were marred by allegations of election meddling. Thursday’s court decision paves the way for Moldova to change its constitution to affirm its push to join the 27-nation bloc as a goal.
