It might be hard to believe, but the 2024-2025 NFL Season is already half over. Week nine marks the halfway point of the regular season (though, of course, the postseason will run well into next February). So while it might be a little too early to start putting together lists of potential playoff matches, some things are coming into focus.
The Kansas City Chiefs remain undefeated with a 1.5 game lead over the AFC and the Detroit Lions are nearly as dominant in the NFC. Otherwise, it’s still largely a toss-up.
Technically, no team is mathematically eliminated from the post-season yet, but it would take the most unlikely of miracles for the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, or Carolina Panthers to continue beyond week 18.
That said, the New York Jets managed to steal a victory Thursday night—and this weekend is loaded tih rivalry games, which should have several teams fighting harder than usual.
