On Wednesday, Tennis Canada confirmed that the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals and Davis Cup Final 8, held in Malaga, Spain, will be livestreamed by CBC Sports and broadcast live on TVA Sports in French. The Billie Jean King Cup Finals run from November 13 to 20, followed by the Davis Cup Final 8 from November 19 to 24.

As the reigning champions, Canada’s Billie Jean King Cup team has earned a first-round bye and will play their quarter-final match against the winner of Germany and Great Britain on November 17. Led by team captain Heidi El Tabakh (Toronto, ON), the squad consists of Leylah Annie Fernandez (Laval, QC), Rebecca Marino (Vancouver, BC), Gabriela Dabrowski (Ottawa, ON), and Marina Stakusic (Mississauga, ON). They look to become the first team since Czechia in 2016 to successfully defend their title.

On the men’s side Denis Shapovalov (Richmond Hill, ON), Gabriel Diallo (Montreal, QC), Alexis Galarneau (Laval, QC), Milos Raonic (Thornhill, ON), and Vasek Pospisil (Vernon, BC) will make up the Canadian Davis Cup team, captained by Frank Dancevic (Niagara Falls, ON). The 2022 champions will be playing in their third straight Davis Cup Final 8 and will begin their road to the title against Germany on November 20. A victory could set up a semi-final tie against Spain in what will be the last tournament of Rafael Nadal’s storied career.

“The Billie Jean King Cup Finals and Davis Cup Final 8 are among the most exciting events in our sport, and we are thrilled that tennis fans will be able to watch Team Canada across CBC Sports’ digital platforms and TVA Sports,” said Gavin Ziv, Chief Executive Officer at Tennis Canada. “Winning these events two years in a row has shown just how much tennis has grown in Canada and the impact it has had on participation across the country. We would like to thank CBC Sports and TVA Sports for continuing to bring attention to our sport and for joining us in our mission to lead the growth, development, and promotion of tennis in Canada.”
