Washington knew what they were this season.
I think they, they’ve known they’ve been way ahead of schedule on what the record looks like.
Some of the wins that they’ve had, uh, the competitive ability of the team.
And a lot of that has to do with Dan Quinn, the head coach.
A lot of that has to do with Jayne Daniels the quarterback.
But overall, particularly when I talk to people in the organization approaching the trade deadline, they knew like there’s a lot of work to do here.
We still have a lot of pieces to add to this team.
It’s a short week for a rookie quarterback.
I don’t think Thursday night games will ever favor a rookie quarterback in the world of prep for, for getting ready for the games.
They don’t, they just don’t have enough league knowledge at this point.
So if I’m a Washington fan, I’m looking at him saying, ok, you got me on this one, but we know that it would have played out that way 10 times out of 10.
I, I don’t, I don’t know one thing I’ll throw back at you that, that did make me nervous watching last night, Jay Daniels got, he got knocked around last night.
He gets a cut on his throwing hand.
I took a lot of hits last night, a lot, you know, sometimes running the football where he was gonna just go ahead and absorb those hits.
He made the decision to, to go ahead and absorb those hits.
Uh, there were times in the pocket where he got hit it.
This was that game where I’m like, ok, yeah, let’s, this makes me a little nervous like you don’t want this guy to take this kind of punishment in, you know, game in and game out, particularly when some of the runs he was making the decision himself.
Hey, I gotta go for it here.
So I’m gonna go ahead and, and get thumped.
Um, and, and then the cut, it just, it’s a, the first time where I really, this season where I really watched him consistently get kind of beaten up and, and thought to myself, this is what you’re afraid of and this is what you gotta fix.
You can’t expose him or have him exposed himself like this.
Um, every single game and, and I would, if I was the commanders, that’s the first conversation I’m having, I’m gonna give you three reasons why you really shouldn’t panic about the commanders right now versus Dallas versus Tennessee at New Orleans.
Those are the next three games.
Like if you don’t screw that up, you got 10 wins and you’re going to the playoffs and, and way ahead of schedule, like you talked about Charles.
