Purcell Golf forms Purcell Men’s Club, joins National Golf League for season-long competition.
Purcell Golf, home of the Kimberley Golf Club, has announced that they have created a new group in order to help them “further enhance the golfer experience.”
Dubbed the Purcell Men’s Club, this new group will assist in overseeing an enhanced Men’s Night, Pucksters, the St. Mary’s Open — formally known as Wood Valance), as well as inter-club playing opportunities throughout the Kootenays.
They have also announced that they have joined the National Golf League, which is a season-long competition organized by Golf Canada.
The club will have guaranteed spots at the provincials in Banff, with the winners of that event moving on to Nationals in Ontario — an all expenses paid trip that happens in conjunction with the Canadian Open. Ladies are welcome to compete as well, and the cost to compete in this optional season-long competition is just $25 per golfer.
“The goal of this group is to restore a robust golfing community at Purcell Golf in Kimberley with multiple opportunities every year for golfers of all levels to have fun and compete,” said Purcell’s director of golf Simon Jones.
