PSG Urged to Pursue Liverpool Standout Because of Professional Lifestyle, Production

On Sunday, L’Équipe reported that Paris Saint-Germain had entered discussions with Mohamed Salah’s representatives, suggesting the 32-year-old might now be more open to joining the Ligue 1 side. This reignited speculation about a potential transfer.

However, PSG swiftly denied the claims, with a club source telling the French outlet, “It’s not true.” The report also implied that Salah might be using the rumors to strengthen his position in ongoing contract negotiations with Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Football Insider recently stated that Salah is pushing for a lucrative extension to keep him at Anfield until 2027. The Egyptian forward is reportedly seeking an additional three years with the club in this round of talks.

Despite the PSG rumors, Salah appears set to stay with Liverpool. On Wednesday, TEAMtalk reported that significant progress has been made in contract discussions, with sources indicating growing confidence that a deal will soon be finalized.

Whether or not Salah extends his contract remains up in the air, but RMC Sport pundit Daniel Riolo validates a potential move for the veteran forward.

“If we’re wondering whether it’s a good idea, I’d say he’s someone who takes great care of himself,” Riolo said (h/t Le10Sport). “These days, knowing a player stays home, eats well, and gets proper rest is definitely a positive. As for his performance at 32, a year ago, there were signs he might be slowing down, but this season, he’s shown no signs of decline. Is he keeping this level because he’s aiming for an extension? That’s something to consider.

“As long as PSG doesn’t offer him a five-year deal or something excessive, then yes, it’s a smart move to bring him in. PSG desperately needs a player of his caliber—there’s no doubt about that. I know some people are questioning it, but honestly, there’s no debate; PSG doesn’t have anyone at his level right now.”
