Air Canada App Revamps Boarding Passes for Easier Holiday Travel • iPhone in Canada Blog

Air Canada’s iPhone app just got an update for the holidays, and it’s all about making travel less stressful, says the airline (well…aside from charging its lowest seat fare for carry on bags now).

The boarding pass in Apple Wallet is also easier to use now. You can check how boarding is going in real-time, switch seats, add baggage, and see perks from things like Aeroplan Elite or certain credit cards, all in the same place.

Another addition is the ability to see what’s available on your flight. You can check if there’s in-flight entertainment, Live TV, Wi-Fi, or even outlets to charge your devices before you board, so you’ll know what to expect. This info can be found in Flight Status.

Back in October, Air Canada updated the app to work with Live Activities on iPhone, meaning you can keep track of your flight—boarding times, gate changes, or delays—right on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island. No need to keep opening the app to know what’s happening.

Other features are still there, like tracking your checked bags (such as letting employees track your bag with AirTags) or getting turn-by-turn directions in major airports, but the new tools make it even simpler to stay in control of your trip.
