Brighton have built a brilliant home record in 2024 although if it was not for one moment of magic from an unlikely source, their unbeaten run would have come to an end on Saturday.
With her side trailing 1-0, left-back Marisa Olislagers was in the right place at the right time to hit a super volley into the far corner and rescue a late point for the Seagulls.
The 24-year-old’s shot was perfect. Hit with power from a tight angle her volley dipped beyond the keeper.
Olislagers joined Brighton from Twente this summer, and her leveller against Tottenham was her first strike for the club. Not a bad way to open your account!
The result meant Brighton stayed fifth and maintained their six-point lead over Tottenham in sixth.
The Seagulls also stayed unbeaten in front of their own fans this season with four wins and two draws.
Both sides were playing their final fixture of 2024, and, brilliant equaliser aside, each manager looked reasonably happy at full-time.
