Giants take sole possession of No. 1 overall pick in 2025 NFL Draft with Raiders’ win over Jaguars

Must read

With the Raiders’ 19-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon, the Giants are now in sole possession of the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The two teams came into the day tied for the worst record in the league, but New York now sits alone after being blown out by the Falcons for their franchise-record 10th straight loss, while Vegas held on to pull out their third victory of the season.

That means that Big Blue’s draft fate is now in their own hands the rest of the way, and they’d officially lock up the first pick with losses to the Colts and the NFC East-leading Eagles over the season’s final two weeks.

Owning the top pick certainly would be a huge plus for the organization as they continue their rebuild and look to finally get things trending back in the right direction after a nightmare season.

While nothing is guaranteed, the expectation is that they’d look to take a top quarterback after moving on from former first-round pick Daniel Jones earlier this year, and the top two on the board are Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward.

The rest of the top-10 currently is as follows: Patriots, Jaguars, Titans, Browns, Raiders, Panthers, Jets, Bears, and Saints.
