Air Canada has entered into a new inflight entertainment (IFE) content agreement with Anuvu, which will increase the airline’s content catalogue to include more than 1,000 movie options and over 3,500 TV episodes. The content additions will also enable Air Canada to offer customers more diverse programming options, with additional Canadian (English and French), Indian, and Asian content added through acquisitions from distributors such as Skeye, Shemaroo Entertainment, and Anuvu Distribution.
“We aim to revolutionise traditional monthly content cycles by updating and refreshing Air Canada’s IFE offerings more frequently, ensuring passengers have access to time-sensitive content within days rather than months,” said Estibaliz Asiain, EVP of media & content at Anuvu.
Anuvu’s technology will also make it easier for passengers to search and discover the enlarged catalogue of content available onboard. Additionally, Anuvu will help support and build upon Air Canada’s existing relationships with many popular streaming brands. New content acquisitions, such as Moonbug (Cocomelon), will offer kids’ TV content in both English and French, along with exclusive short-form content from various providers.
