Air Canada Reintroduces Ottawa-London Heathrow Service

Air Canada is set to boost its schedule serving Canada’s capital region by resuming non-stop international flights from Ottawa to London Heathrow beginning March 31, 2025. The service will operate four times weekly using Air Canada’s Dreamliner fleet, offering passengers a choice of three cabins: Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy, and Economy.

“We are very pleased to solidify Air Canada’s leadership serving our country’s capital with the resumption of trans-Atlantic services beginning next spring,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President – Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada.

Expanded Connectivity and Convenience

With this service resumption, Air Canada becomes the only Canadian airline connecting Ottawa directly to Europe. Heathrow, a major global gateway and home to Air Canada’s largest international operations, provides customers with seamless connections to over 30 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa through Air Canada’s Star Alliance partners.

The Ottawa-London Heathrow flights will operate on the following schedule:

  • Flight AC888: Departs Ottawa on Mondays and Thursdays at 18:40, arriving in London at 06:30 (+1 day); Wednesdays and Saturdays at 20:55, arriving at 08:35 (+1 day).
  • Flight AC889: Departs London on Mondays and Thursdays at 14:05, arriving in Ottawa at 16:35; Wednesdays and Saturdays at 12:40, arriving at 15:20.

This route will operate seasonally from March 31, 2025, to October 25, 2025, with the potential for increased frequencies and year-round service in the future with the introduction of Air Canada’s new Airbus A321XLR fleet.

Enhanced In-flight Experience

Air Canada’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners offer passengers a premium in-flight experience across all classes. The Air Canada Signature Class features lie-flat individual pods, Premium Economy offers larger seats with additional legroom, and Economy provides complimentary Chef-inspired meals and beverages. Every seat is equipped with an entertainment screen offering over 3,900 hours of content, including movies, TV shows, music, and more. Passengers can also purchase Wi-Fi connectivity, with free texting available for Aeroplan members on Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft.

“Knowing that this route will be particularly popular with our leisure customers, we’re pleased to be working with Bangkok Airways to offer more choice and make these sought-after holiday destinations more accessible,” added Galardo.

Aeroplan Benefits and Maple Leaf Lounges

Customers traveling on Air Canada flights can collect and redeem points with Aeroplan, Canada’s leading loyalty program. Eligible customers will also enjoy benefits such as priority check-in, Maple Leaf Lounge access, priority boarding, and more.

Air Canada operates 27 Maple Leaf Lounges across North America and worldwide, offering eligible passengers a premium pre-flight experience.
