And at his press conference Sunday said, Joe Flacco gives them the best chance to win.
He has gone back to Anthony Richardson.
It’s just a mess like this is not what the Colts wanted.
You obviously sat him a couple of weeks ago for a reason.
He was not playing at an NFL level and then Joe Flacco comes in and he’s so bad.
You basically have to go back to Anthony Richardson.
Stein said like, oh, we’ve seen strides for Richardson the past two weeks.
I call nonsense on that.
You have to say big positive to kind of dig out of this hole.
Do you think this is what they had to do right now?
My spin move on.
This is what if you realize Anthony Richardson needs to develop, but very few players are going to develop against Brian Flores’s Minnesota Vikings defense and the Buffalo Bills defense.
So why don’t we just give him a couple of weeks off reset?
It’s really easy to justify because he took himself out for a place.
There’s already some controversy and then bring him back against, oh, the New York Jets who are actually practicing with tackling in the middle of the season because they missed so many tackles right now.
And again, you definitely want to get them back this week against the Jets rather than next week against the Lions.
Given how challenging the Lions have been.
I don’t think that’s what’s going on here.
I would love it if it was what’s going on here.
I think it makes a lot of sense.
But when you brought in Joe Flacco, the number one reason was from a player standpoint in the locker room, you were trying to show guys we do to make the playoffs, we’re doing everything we can to win.
This is in some ways, I think the best case scenario where Anthony Richardson maybe has like a new perspective, a new level of gratitude.
A lot of times we say that when things are taken away, we appreciate them even more.
He probably will realize like, hey, I got to step it up and get in line, but also he really didn’t sit out that long in the games.
He sat out against, he was probably not going to win.
If we’re being honest, I just don’t think he’s kind of ready to an NFL quarterback yet and he needs a lot of work.
He needs a lot of development.
We’ve talked about that in the show and I don’t know that this two weeks have fixed anything.
What do you think the Colts and Richardson look like over these last eight weeks of the season, I think one, can he stay healthy and two can he make enough plays?
I don’t think he needs to be consistent and accurate and like, Dink and dunk, I don’t think that’s what they should be going for.
I think they should get a few more completions a few more.
Even.
It’s behind the sticks to Jonathan Taylor and basically manufactured running game through the passing game.
But then also just hit on some of the downfield passes.
Some, some of these stats, I keep throwing up 44% because you, you can’t be that low.
I think we both would agree on that.
But maybe there’s a different benchmark for him.
It’s gonna be really interesting just to see him the rest of the season and how the Colts react if he struggles.
I think that’s the big thing if he plays well, great, cool.
Go along with your business.
But if he struggles, what do you do with that?
