AS Monaco manager praises ‘extraordinary’ Barcelona forward after UCL victory

Speaking after the match against Barcelona, AS Monaco manager Adi Hutter expressed his immense satisfaction in the press room.

He conveyed his happiness and pride following the victory, especially as several players were making their Champions League debuts and it was also his first match in charge. Hutter emphasised that while it was a special moment, the focus was on the win itself.

Hutter acknowledged the advantage of playing with an extra player for a significant portion of the game, due to Eric Garcia’s early red card. He pointed out that having this numerical superiority certainly helped, but he felt their strong start in the game was crucial.

“Eric Garcia being sent off quickly was an advantage, it helps a lot to be one more player but we had already started very well, we were back in the game straight away,” said the Monaco manager as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

“Beating Barça, one of the biggest clubs in Europe, makes us happy and proud. We played with great courage, we created many chances,” he added.

Meanwhile, Hutter was particularly impressed by Lamine Yamal, noting that Monaco conceded very few chances during the game and praising Yamal’s extraordinary talent for scoring a goal that seemed to come out of nowhere.

“We conceded very few chances and his goal came out of nowhere, just from Lamine Yamal, who is an extraordinary player,” noted Hutter.

In summary, Hutter’s reflections showcased a blend of pride, tactical awareness, and an appreciation for individual player performances.

His remarks not only highlighted the team’s accomplishments but also set a positive tone for future matches as they aim to build on this victory in the prestigious Champions League.
