Baseball is Downed by Our Lady of the Lake, 3-2 – Ottawa University

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Ottawa University baseball team fell 3-2 to Our Lady of the Lake University on Friday evening.

The Braves struck first, taking the lead in the top of the second inning. Johnny Vulcano led the inning off with a walk. A Brandon Kelley ground out moved Vulcano to second. Marcellus Pearson scored him with a single to left and OU led 1-0. Anthony Soria followed that with a triple to right. His hit scored Pearson and the Braves had a 2-0 lead.

The Saints cut into the Brave lead with a run in the bottom of the third, 2-1. In the top of the fifth, OLLU tied the game, 2-2.

In the ninth, the Braves had Anthony Soria on third and Tyler Farnham on second. OU was not able to score the go ahead run and the game remained tied. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, the Saints had a base runner reach on a walk. A double to left scored the runner and OLLU took the 3-2 victory.
