Blyth Spartans have been forced to postpone Saturday’s fixture against Gainsborough Trinity following the resignation of club volunteers.
Owner Irfan Liaquat announced on Wednesday he was putting the club up for sale six months after taking control, but the departure of club secretary Colin Blackett and general manager Bryan Turner earlier this week, has meant their next game cannot go ahead.
A statement on X said the club does not have the “capacity to meet current legal requirements” following the resignations, which come amidst a supporter boycott and protests against Liaquat’s stewardship.
The 125-year-old club are bottom of the Premier Division of the Northern Premier League following relegation last year.
