A body found Saturday night is being investigated as a homicide.
Kansas City police were dispatched around 10:18 p.m. to the 10500 block of East 42nd Street, where they found a man with bodily trauma, according to Sgt. Phil DiMartino, spokesperson for the police department. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
This killing is Kansas City’s 117th homicide of 2024, according to data tracked by The Star including police shootings. At this time last year, the city had recorded 146 homicides.
