Who doesn’t love a parade.
ONE CARE Home and Community Support Services are welcoming the community out on Saturday for their Grand Parade.
Now in its seventh go around, the parade raises money for ONE CARE’s programs and services.
Executive Director Kathy Scanlon says it also serves as a chance to educate the community.
“It’s a way that we can come together and celebrate seniors in our lives, as well as raise money for this important service.”
ONE CARE provides support and care for seniors and those living with health challenges.
The Grand Parade is held across Canada by organizations that support and celebrate aging Canadians. More locally, it’s one of the biggest fundraisers for ONE CARE, with $120,000 raised over the past six years.
Scanlon says everyone is welcome.
“We are hoping to have people come out with their families. It really is a family-friendly event.”
