The 2024 ConfΓ©dΓ©ration Africaine de Football (CAF) Awards took place on Monday, honouring the best in the game.
Ademola Lookman was named the Men’s Player of the Year after starring for Atalanta and Nigeria.
The 27-year-old forward notably helped the Serie A side win the Europa League thanks to his hat-trick against then-undefeat Bayer Leverkusen.

Lookman also helped Nigeria reach the final of the Africa Cup of Nations Cote dβIvoire 2023.
Meanwhile, Barbra Banda took home the Women’s Player of the Year award.
The 24-year-old attacker had an impressive campaign with Orlando Pride and scored the winning goal to lift the National Women’s Soccer League Championship. In total, she registered 17 goals across 25 games.
Banda was also the NWSL MVP and starred for the Zambia Copper Queens at the Paris Olympic Games.
