The future Hall of Fame quarterback turned TV analyst spoke to Yahoo Sports senior NFL reporter Charles Robinson recently about what makes winning three straight championships – something that’s never been done in the NFL – so hard to do.

You had an opportunity to attempt to, to win three straight Super Bowls.
Not a lot of players, you know, get that chance.
The Kansas City Chiefs are gonna attempt to pull it off this year, but no one’s ever done it.
And I’m, I’m curious all of your Super Bowl experience, what is it that has made this feat so impossible in the NFL?
I mean, I know it’s hard to get to the Super Bowl, but I’m just wondering if there’s a set of circumstances that really comes into play in particular when it’s that three peat push for a team.
Well, I think we talked about car racing earlier in, in the endurance aspect of a car race for 24 hour car race.
An NFL season is a marathon and to have so many things go right over the course of a long season.
Terms of injuries, balls bounce in the right way, hitting teams at the right time, getting the right playoff position and then you make to the playoffs and then you gotta have the same thing happen.
You gotta get the right breaks, you gotta hit the team at the right time.
It’s hard enough to win one Super Bowl.
It’s really hard to win two to win three in a row.
I mean, there’s a reason why no one’s ever done it and I’m not saying it can’t be done.
It certainly can be done.
Chiefs have a great opportunity to do it.
But, and I would say I would never bet against the Chiefs at this point with their organization structured the way it is, they’ve got a lot of great pieces in place.
So they have a great opportunity, but it’s gonna be a big challenge for them.
And I know those guys are up for a challenge, so we’ll see what they can do.
