The Government of Canada and the Northwest Territories have signed a renewed ten-year agreement for the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF).

The CCBF is a stable, predictable, and indexed source of funding that is provided upfront to provinces and territories. The funding allows local communities to make strategic investments in essential infrastructure, such as roads and bridges, public transit, drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, and recreational facilities.

The federal government is investing $26.7 billion over the next 10 years to support infrastructure projects.

Under this agreement, the Northwest Territories will receive $94.5 million in funding through the CCBF over the first five years to provide long-term and stable funding to communities across the territory.

The renewal of this agreement will support the construction of housing.
