Barrow head coach Stephen Clemence does not believe that any team is going to pull away from the rest in League Two this season.
The Bluebirds are third after 10 games, level on points with Walsall and Gillingham, the two sides above them.
But only three points separate the top eight at this early stage of the campaign.
“From what I’ve seen this season, there’s no Stockport, Wrexham or Mansfield,” Clemence told BBC Radio Cumbria.
“There are some very good teams, but we’re a very good team too.”
Last year’s promoted trio – Stockport County, Wrexham and Mansfield Town – amassed 266 points between them, the highest combined tally from the top three for eight years.
With almost every team having now played 10 games this season, no side has more than six wins, while Fleetwood Town are the only club to have lost fewer than two.
After successive away defeats, Barrow came from behind on Saturday to beat Cheltenham Town and move level with the top two.
It maintained their unbeaten home record at Holker Street, where they welcome bottom side Morecambe this weekend.
Having arrived at the club in the summer, Clemence is enjoying his side’s fine form and is challenging them to keep it going.
“We’re really, really pleased to be in the top three after 10 games,” he said.
“People say league tables don’t matter at this stage of the season, but it’s always nice to be up the top end. Now can we see if we can stay there?”
