Cymru Premier strugglers Aberystwyth Town have appointed former Swansea City midfielder Antonio Corbisiero as their new manager.
It is the 39-year-old’s second spell in charge of the club having left the role two years ago.
Aber have been without a manager since Anthony Williams resigned last month with the club in the bottom two of Wales’ top flight.
Corbisiero, who also played for Newport County, Aberystwyth and Llanelli, led the Seasiders to eighth in 2022 – their best finish in recent years.
He quit at the end of his sole campaign in charge, being replaced by Williams.
On his return, Corbisiero said: “I’m excited to be back at Aberystwyth Town Football Club and back amongst the Cymru Premier again, under similar circumstances to my first time taking charge.
“It will be a huge challenge for my staff and I, but one we are looking forward to immensely.”
Dave Taylor – who had taken interim charge of the side and oversaw wins over Caernarfon and Newtown – has left his role.
Aberystwyth are currently ahead of bottom-placed Briton Ferry Llansawel by two points, having played two games more.
The club have been ever-present in the Welsh top flight since its formation in 1992, an honour only matched by Newtown.
