Ottawa paramedics say a man is dead after a single-vehicle rollover on Monday night in the city’s south end.
Paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps says emergency crews were called to Roger Stevens Drive, west of Second Line Road at approximately 11:15 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found the vehicle in a ditch after it struck a hydro pole and rolled over. Fire crews extricated the driver and performed CPR.
The lone 30-year-old driver inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, paramedics say.
Hydro crews were still on scene repairing power lines on Tuesday morning.
Roger Stevens Drive was closed in both directions between Second Line Road and Highway 416 until approximately 7 a.m. on Tuesday. All roads have reopened.
Anyone with dashcam footage or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Investigation Unit.
