I’m Tara Roberts with Yahoo Fantasy bringing you early waiver wire pickups.

We are officially at the by week and with four teams on a buy picks are critical this week.

Let’s take a look at three pickups heading into week five.

Josh Downs is back in absolutely rolling downs missed the first two games of the season but returned in week three against a tough defensive matchup with Chicago while the Fantasy production wasn’t spectacular.

He immediately tied Michael Pittman for the team lead in targets in week four downs had eight receptions on nine targets for 82 yards and a touchdown.

While we may be hoping for rookie Ad Mitchell to step up downs appears to be the second option in this offense.

Xavier Legget has been quietly emerging in the Panthers receiving corps with Adam Thiele out legget stepped up with six receptions on 10 targets for 66 yards and a touchdown plus a couple of carries as well.

It always is better to be earlier on a potential rookie breakout than late next week’s matchup against Chicago is again a tough defensive matchup, but with thelin expected to miss significant time and the Panthers pass volume increasing under Andy Dalton Leggett is an excellent stash who could quickly become a weekly flex option.

Christian Watson was ruled out early with an ankle injury and while the severity is still unknown, what we do know is that when Watson is out, Don t and Wick steps up, it was a shaky day overall for Jordan Love and his return.

So efficiency wasn’t great, but Wicks managed five receptions on 13 targets for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

As long as Watson is out, Wicks will be a favorite deep threat target for Jordan Love and the upcoming schedule is very pass friendly.
