Euro 2024 Golden Boot odds: Mbappe to star again?

Must read

The 2024 European Championship takes place in Germany (June 14-July 14) and the contest for the Golden Boot promises to be almost as hard to predict as the tournament itself.

Here, we assess the front-runners to net the coveted award for the top goalscorer. The official odds show the two favourites to be Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane, both of whom have previously won the award at the World Cup – Kane in Russia in 2018 and Mbappe in Qatar two years ago.

Cristiano Ronaldo won the award at Euro 2020 and he is 14/1 third favourite to repeat that feat.

Mbappe to steal the show again

France are among the favourites for the Euros this summer and if they are to lift the trophy for the third time, then one man who will be pivotal is forward Kylian Mbappe.

He has been one of the best strikers in the world over the past few seasons and is 9/2 to add the Euro 2024 Golden Boot to the award he won for finishing top goalscorer at the 2022 World Cup.

England’s hopes of success rely heavily on Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, who is 5/1 to win the Golden Boot at this summer’s tournament.

Kane is a prolific goalscorer and has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times as well as the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot. He will be eager to get his hands on another individual award.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been a world superstar for a number of years and this could be his last chance to showcase his talent at an international tournament.

He is 14/1 to win the Golden Boot – as he did at Euro 2020 – and Portugal have a star-studded squad including the likes of Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes to support his bid.

Other contenders include Romelu Lukaku of Belgium (16/1) and Olivier Giroud of France (20/1), while Jamal Musiala is Germany’s best young star and is priced at 25/1 to win the Golden Boot.
