Ashley Cole has officially joined the Football Association as a full-time coach.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal man, who played 107 times for the Three Lions, had previously been job sharing with the England national team and Birmingham.
But a statement from the FA on Saturday has confirmed that Cole will now focus on the national set-up on a permanent basis.
Cole will be an assistant to Lee Carsley with the men’s senior side.
England won their first two matches under the interim boss, beating Ireland and Finland in the Nations League.
England will face Finland again, and Greece, in the October international break.
