OTTAWA, Kan. – The 2024 KCAC Football Virtual Media Day was held on Friday, Aug. 2. The Ottawa University football team was selected to tie for first, with Kansas Wesleyan University in the KCAC Coaches Poll. The KCAC media picked OU to finish second behind KWU.
The Braves and Coyotes finished the 2023 season with a 4-1 Bissell Division record. Both OU and KWU received 23 total points and three first place votes from the conference coaches. Avila University, Tabor College, and the University of Saint Mary tied for third with 13 points. Sterling College was selected to finish sixth.
In the KCAC Media Poll Kansas Wesleyan took the top spot, receiving 93 points and 13 first place votes. Ottawa received 81 points and three first place votes to finish second. Rounding out the top three was Avila University. The Eagles received 54 points. In fourth was Tabor College (49 points), fifth was the University of Saint Mary (40 points), and in sixth was Sterling College (15 points).
The Braves open its 2024 season on Saturday, August 31 at AdventHealth Field against Southwestern College. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
